Tips for a Successful Facelift

6 Sep

Facelifts can be performed by any surgeon, but for superior results, it’s best to consult an experienced plastic surgeon with thousands of hours in the operating room doing facelifts. Here’s a video that can help with your decision. Watch it here.

FaceliftOur best facelift candidates are realistic about expectations, strictly follow the pre-and post-operative instructions and seek consultations with several plastic surgeons. Chemistry and trust are an important part of the equation, as are personality and bedside manner. It’s a good idea to look at a surgeon’s before and after photos of clients who have had facelifts.

Here are some other helpful tips if you’re contemplating a facelift.

  • Gather information and learn about the benefits and risks of the procedure.
  • It’s easy to think that plastic surgery will solve all your problems or make you look like a movie star. Understanding the limitations of surgery is essential for overall satisfaction with your results.
  • Facelifts are not covered by insurance, so make sure you understand all the charges involved. Your doctor may offer financing options.
  • Make sure you understand the risks and complications of surgery.

Get started by requesting a consultation online. We’d love to help you decide if a facelift is right for you.

Best, WGS

What’s a Cake Without Icing?

17 Sep

Cake without icing? It’s like a facelift that doesn’t leave you with a fully-finished, polished and glowing new you. I think we’d agree that both prospects don’t sound appealing. After many years of experience, my approach to the face is comprehensive; I believe it’s important to improve the face itself and to improve the skin as well.

At Marina Plastic Surgery, we want you to have an overall common but nice skinrejuvenated look that is fresh, clear and truly beautiful.
In order to achieve the best results, I always customize the treatment that I use for each individual patient. After all, there isn’t just one filler that works best for the entire face, and there isn’t just one procedure that rises to every skin challenge.

For wrinkles under the eyes, red spots from broken capillaries close to the skin’s surface, or brown spots from age or sun damage, here are some of the additional tools that I feel have helped achieve consistent and impressive results:

• Limelight: This non-invasive light treatment is great for improving skin tone and age spots.
• Clear and Brilliant: A gentle, non-surgical laser that helps even the skin’s canvas and improve texture by minimizing the appearance of pores.
• Halo Laser: This is a wonderful, new hybrid laser that targets the deeper dermis layers of the skin, causing pigment from damaged layers to rise to the surface and peel off.

Let us use our best tools to bring out the very best in your skin and get the most out of your facelift! Give us a call today. We’d love to hear from you. You can also check out my video for the Plastic Surgery Channel here.

Easy Face and Neck Tightening Has Arrived!

21 May

Have you been wondering how you can tighten up those eyebrow, chin and neck areas without having to go through surgery and a time-consuming recovery process? Ultherapy® might be just the thing for you especially with summer around the corner. Here I am getting treatment and it works!

stevens getting treatedAs the only FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment for lifting and tightening skin on the eyebrow, face and neck – and now the décolletage lines and wrinkles, Ultherapy helps promote and maintain natural collagen stimulation within the deeper levels of the skin, leaving you with visibly tighter skin and fewer lines and wrinkles.

Here’s how it works:
• Focused ultrasound technology bypasses surface layers of the skin to stimulate deeper levels, unlike lasers that primarily concentrate on the surface alone.
• Non-surgical, noninvasive technique allows for no downtime after, and long-lasting results.
• Procedures range from only 30 minutes to one hour.
• Naturally targets your deeper skin layers to promote your own collagen production, which continues to smooth skin’s appearance gradually for up to three months afterwards.
• Ultrasound imaging allows practitioners to see layers of tissue they’re treating, which ensures that energy is delivered where it’s needed most.

Contact us at Marina Plastic Surgery (310) 827-2653 to get more information about how Ultherapy can safely and naturally improve your skin. Check out our website for more information here http://bit.ly/1zTppkh.

Meet The Amazing Halo Laser

11 May

All those years sun worshipping as a teenager made us pay a high price! Ugh – wrinkles! Enter Halo™ laser to the rescue.

Halo by Sciton is the first and only hybrid, fractional laser that safely and comfortably targets damage specific to your skin to get rejuvenated, glowing, youthful-looking skin again. While other lasers penetrate too deeply, or not deeply enough to be most effective, the Halo laser has two wavelengths to target the epidermis and the deeper dermis levels specifically, leading to epidermal renewal and deep dermal rejuvenation. Here I am getting a treatment. I love it!

Stevens getting HaloThrough a healing process of only a few days, pigment from the damaged skin rises to the surface and peels off to give you clear, radiant, luminous skin. The Halo laser’s unique cooling system and temperature monitoring even keeps your skin comfortable and safe throughout the procedure.

Here are some of the ways Halo can improve your glow:
• Correct damage due to tanning, sunspots, and aging.
• Improve appearance of tone, texture and fine lines.
• Reduce pore size to increase reflectivity.
• Encourage continual dermal rejuvenation, with shorter downtimes.

I suggest starting with a one-on-one consultation with Cory in our office to determine customized treatment levels with flexible downtimes. Check out the video to see for yourself: https://vimeo.com/sciton/review/115683212/dc334a3312

Get in touch with Cory today at (310) 827-2653 to learn how your skin’s outer glow can finally start reflecting that vibrant, youthful glow you have on the inside.

Get glowing! WGS
