Dr. Stevens and Mike Kleine Plan Live miraDry “Sweat Off” October 4th, 2 PM PST

Marina Del Rey, CA – October 3, 2016 – Grant Stevens, MD, FACS, a board certified plastic surgeon and founder of Marina Plastic Surgery in Marina del Rey, and Mike Kleine CEO at Miramar Labs, creator of the FDA cleared procedure called miraDry®, will challenge each other to a live “sweat off.” It’s a case of “Dr. Stevens heal thyself” and Kleine getting a taste of his own medicine as they both undergo simultaneous miraDry procedures, Tuesday, October 4th at 2 pm PST on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/MarinaPlasticSurgeryAssociates.

The miraDry system uses thermal energy that targets and destroys the sweat and odor glands. Once those glands are destroyed, they do not grow back. It’s the first and only non-invasive treatment to permanently eliminate underarm sweat and odor glands. After numbing the underarm area, it takes about one hour to complete the procedure. It’s perfect for men and women who never want to worry about underarm sweat and odor.

“We are excited to demonstrate this procedure for the world to see via Facebook,” said Dr. Stevens, medical director. “No one wants to use antiperspirants every day for the rest of their lives. Sweating is the pits. miraDry is the solution.”

Kleine said, “We are pleased to have Dr. Stevens and his team bring to patients the onlymiradry-photos treatment for the permanent reduction of underarm sweat that is also FDA-cleared for permanent reduction of hair of all colors. Marina Plastic Surgery is an excellent miraDry partner. They have extensive experience with miraDry and have made an ever growing number of people happy to escape the burdens of perspiration, odor and sweat-stained clothing and the chemicals in deodorants and antiperspirants. I am appreciative of the opportunity to join this fortunate group of Marina Plastic Surgery patients as the Marina clinicians demonstrate live just how easy and straightforward the treatment is.

”This painless process actually kills the targeted glands in the under arm area often making patients wonder if not being able to sweat at all is bad for them. Dr. Stevens says, “We have plenty of other sweat glands in our body to thermoregulate. Only about 2% of those glands live in the troublesome armpit area.”

equipmentBefore miraDry, sweating under the arms was treated with Botox, but Dr. Stevens says, “It is another way to turn off the sweat glands, but you have to do it several times a year, it hurts, it’s expensive and it doesn’t turn off the odor.” Anyone is a good candidate for miraDry. Since it is effective, affordable and painless, it is easy to see how its popularity is growing. The average treatment is about $1995 and the average patient only needs one treatment making it very affordable.

Even though miraDry is a non-surgical procedure, it is very important to seek out a qualified, experienced plastic surgeon for evaluation and consultation. Dr. Stevens has extensive experience with miraDry and finds it one of the most popular procedures for men at his Marina ManLand clinic.

Marina Plastic Surgery offers both surgical and non-surgical body-contouring procedures. For more information and to view before and after photos, visit Marina Plastic Surgery; like Marina Plastic Surgery on Facebook; and follow on Twitter @DrGrantStevens.

Tips for a Successful Facelift

6 Sep

Facelifts can be performed by any surgeon, but for superior results, it’s best to consult an experienced plastic surgeon with thousands of hours in the operating room doing facelifts. Here’s a video that can help with your decision. Watch it here.

FaceliftOur best facelift candidates are realistic about expectations, strictly follow the pre-and post-operative instructions and seek consultations with several plastic surgeons. Chemistry and trust are an important part of the equation, as are personality and bedside manner. It’s a good idea to look at a surgeon’s before and after photos of clients who have had facelifts.

Here are some other helpful tips if you’re contemplating a facelift.

  • Gather information and learn about the benefits and risks of the procedure.
  • It’s easy to think that plastic surgery will solve all your problems or make you look like a movie star. Understanding the limitations of surgery is essential for overall satisfaction with your results.
  • Facelifts are not covered by insurance, so make sure you understand all the charges involved. Your doctor may offer financing options.
  • Make sure you understand the risks and complications of surgery.

Get started by requesting a consultation online. We’d love to help you decide if a facelift is right for you.

Best, WGS

Marina Plastic Surgery Requests New or Gently Used Bra Donations

27 Aug

Marina Plastic Surgery is collecting new and gently worn bras of all sizes to donate to Breast Oasis, a nonprofit founded by John Pedersen, M.D. Breast Oasis is dedicated to supporting communities by providing teens and women who may not be able to afford them with clean, certified, gently used bras.

“There are thousands of women in our own community and across the country who have a tough time affording even basic essentials, such as bras,” Charlie Sheridan, our Practice Manager says. “Simply choose the clean, lightly used or new bras that you would like to donate, and bring it to the donation box at Marina Plastic Surgery. You don’t have to be a client of ours to donate.

“With all the awareness about breast surgery and breast size in our cosmetic practice, it’s a perfect and natural fit to collect these garments and donate them to Breast Oasis,” Charlie said. “We proudly display two collection stations all year long. We get the bras professionally cleaned and package them nicely, and we’ll even include a personal note for the recipient.”

Eight Things You Should Know About a Tummy Tuck…

24 Jun

Our most popular posts have been about tummy tucks, so we are excited to share this article called, “8 Things You Should Know About a Tummy Tuck From Someone Who Got One.” You’ve worked hard to lose weight and to improve your muscle tone through diet and exercise programs. But when you have reached your desired weight but not your desired shape, it may be time to consider a tummy tuck. Our patients choose this procedure when they are having trouble achieving a flat and toned tummy appearance.

tummy tuckNow that you’ve dropped the pounds, you’ve also dropped the skin – it probably hangs on your belly and creates an unflattering look. And no matter how many crunches you do, you just can’t seem to get those abdominal muscles anywhere near a six-pack. Without the help of plastic surgery, you might be stuck. No creams will lift lax tummy skin, no amount of crunches will tighten loose stomach muscles, and oftentimes even the healthiest diet will not be able to reduce certain fat deposits along the abdominal wall. Only abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) at Marina Plastic Surgery can help you address these problem areas sufficiently.

You can find out a lot about the procedure, read patient comments and get a private consultation by clicking here.

I’m looking forward to seeing you and being able to serve your personal plastic surgery needs. Thanks for following our blog!

Cheers, WGS
